The Interfaith Center Survey:  The Project

The Interfaith Center:
Construction and Consequence of Interfaith Space

The evolution of the interfaith center from an intentionally built response to the growing religious diversity in America to a social and cultural element in its infancy represents one the premises of my research.

The objective of this project is to discover and examine the social and material construction of interfaith centers and the consequences of their construction to the local community and the cultural and religious landscape.

The Interfaith Center Survey will be one of the tools used for this exploration.

"A revolution that does not produce a new space has not realized its full potential: indeed it has failed that it has not changed life itself, but has merely changed ideological superstructures, institutions or political apparatus."                              Henri Lefebvre
